Ex-Red Sox Doc Gill Mystified By Panda "ExamGate"
Whenever a Red Sox medical person (past or present) says they are "mystified" by an injury, we all just yawn and consider it par for the course. But now, we've got something a little different. Former Red Sox physician Dr. Thomas Gill has indicated (in an interview today on WEEI 93.7 FM) that he doesn't quite get the notion that the Panda was "too sore" to submit to Dr. James Andrews' examination. That's kind of what the rest of the known universe was thinking about that abortive visit to Alabama. Said Gill, "I've never heard of this before. It is a head scratcher. It is pretty confusing, I have to be honest". This whole Sandoval thing just gets 'curiouser and curiouser'. While Gill may have a bit of an axe to grind based on his dismissal from the team, he is expressing a pretty rational opinion on this fiasco.
