his first Padres telecast on Fox Sports San Diego. The New Hampshire native and
Northeastern University graduate has been doing only Padres radio broadcasts up to now, but tonight he will get full exposure to his new Southern California audience. Given his track record for
The Carmine Hose, he will no doubt quickly ingratiate himself with San Diego viewers. His former partner
Jerry Remy agrees,
"I think the audience in San Diego is really going to like him. He comes off as a person who’s very likable on air, someone you can trust. I just think he’s going to be a perfect fit." Orsillo has already felt welcome in his new home and is taking a philosophical view of his new gig,
"It has been very different. ... It will be different. I’m excited about doing my first game because it’ll be a little more normal, because baseball’s baseball." Indeed it is. We wish Don the best of luck in his new role!
