In what apparently was known to everyone except the Red Sox medical staff, lefty starter Eduardo Rodriguez will start the season on the disabled list. Manager John Farrell made the obvious official today, "He’s going to have to go through spring training. We have to do what’s right by him. He’s a talented guy and we can’t skip steps." Thus, the initial prognosis of "everything is OK, he'll just be out a day or two" has been significantly revised. Unbelievable! (Our warning on 2/27.)
