We were never fans of Yankee starter
CC Sabathia—even when he toiled for the Cleveland Indians and Milwaukee Brewers. But, the big fella showed
immense class on Saturday when
he urged the Yankee faithful to honor and cheer for David Oritz in his final regular season game in the Bronx on September 29th. Said CC,
"Papi's probably the best DH (ever). I think he deserves it. He should get celebrated everywhere." Referencing how Red Sox fans honored
Mariano Rivera in 2013 and
Derek Jeter in 2014, CC went on,
"And they did a great job, too. It was good. It should be good." Hats off to CC.
