Joe Kelly may want to dust off his
Cy Young boasts from a year ago. With
today's 4-1 win, the righty is now 3-0 with a 1.35 ERA on the Spring. He is arguably the second-best starter on Boston's roster. Against the New York Metropolitans in Fort Myers, Kelly hurled seven strong innings—giving up just one earned run and striking out six.
Xander Bogaerts homered and went 2-3 on the day—driving in two of Boston's runs.
Mookie Betts and
Blake Swihart each stole a base. The win improves the Red Sox Grapefruit League record to 10-13.
