FORBES: Red Sox Are Third Most Valuable Baseball Club
According to the latest analysis by Forbes Magazine, the Red Sox are the third most valuable MLB club—worth $2.3 billion. That's a full one billion dollars more than the average for all MLB teams ($1.3 billion). Once again—for the 19th time in a row—The Bronx Embalmers top the list at $3.4 billion, followed by the Los Angeles Dodgers in second place at $2.5 billion. The Miami Marlins are last on the list with a valuation of 'only' $675 million. If you ever find yourself feeling sorry for Red Sox Principal Owner John Henry, just remember that he paid $660 million for The Carmine Hose back in 2002. That's a tidy little profit of $1.64 billion.
