the Red Sox overall bench was named the third best in baseball by FanGraphs.com. Shockingly,
Brock Holt was
not among
FanGraphs Ten Best individual reserves, but
The BrockStar—along with
Ryan Hanigan,
Christian Vazquez,
Chris Young and
Travis Shaw—were seen as the
third best collective bench in the majors. For some unknown reason, several marginal players—like, for example,
Jedd Gyorko, were placed
ahead of Holt on the individual list. Anyway, a strong bench cannot but help this team—it's one less question mark to deal with.
