Multiple reports indicate that
an usher at jetBlue Park in Fort Myers, Florida—site of Red Sox Spring Training—was struck in the back of the head this morning by a ball off the bat of Hanley Ramirez. Batting practice was immediately halted around 11 AM EST. After several minutes, the usher was able to get up and was taken off the premises on a stretcher. Ironically, new netting extending to both dugouts will be in place for
Opening Day at Fenway Park on April 11th. No further information is available at this time as to the condition of the male usher. Stay tuned.
