After initially toeing the party line, Red Sox Chairman
Tom Werner admitted to
WEEI-93.7 FM's Ordway, Merloni & Fauria show that
he was "disappointed" when he saw
Pablo Sandoval's arrival in camp. Earlier in the day, Werner said the following:
"...this is a man who has performed at the highest level. He has what it takes to be successful. He's won three World Series, a World Series MVP. I think they've handled it well internally. And from my own perspective and the organization's perspective, what he does starting April 4 is what's important." Handled it well internally???? You've got to be kidding, Tom. We are not your average rube viewers of
Roseanne or
The Cosby Show. Anyway, at least Werner fessed up later. Give him his due.
