Cubs President Theo Epstein |
Former Red Sox GM
Theo Epstein was in town to participate in his annual "Business Of Baseball" round table and
commented on the Red Sox off-season. Epstein feels that
new honcho
Dave Dombrowski (who happened to
also be on the panel) and the team
"really addressed their areas of weakness" over the Winter. Specifically, he cited the acquisition of free-agent
David Price to fill the "Ace Void" and the trade for
Craig Kimbrel to solidify the closer role. Epstein has already significantly re-vitalized the Cubbies—despite being swept by the Metropolitans last year in the NLCS.
