MLB.com has named Red Sox prospect
Yoan Moncada as number one at the second base position in all of baseball. Boston spent a total of $63 million to nab the Cuban infielder, who hit his stride in the second half of 2015. The 20-year old Moncada ended up hitting .278 with a .380 on-base percentage for Greenville—Boston's Low-A affiliate in the South Atlantic League. While
Dustin Pedroia is likely to man second base for many more years, Moncada is clearly not that far off from potential stardom
somewhere on the diamond. Don't forget,
Mookie Betts was once a 2B prospect.
