Well, one of
the most rational landing spots for Hanley Ramirez seems to have evaporated. According to
WEEI.com's Rob Bradford, the Orioles have no interest in acquiring Boston's former left-fielder and future first-baseman. This news seems to suggest that the Red Sox will have to at least
start the experiment of putting Hanley at first—with
Travis Shaw as an immediate fall-back option. Long-term—if we can survive 2016—Ramirez can take over the DH role in 2017 from the retiring
David Ortiz. At least that's the plan. Fasten your seat belts, folks!
