Dave Dombrowski |
Red Sox President of Baseball Operations
Dave Dombrowski is pretty pleased with how the winter has gone so far. He has fulfilled his baseline needs of: adding an ace (
David Price), a premier closer (
Craig Kimbrel), a fourth outfielder (
Chris Young) and additional bullpen help (
Carson Smith). Says Dombrowski,
"It's quiet right now. I don't think we have a lot of other moves that we're, per se, going to make. You have people approach you all the time and throw different ideas at you, but I would think we're pretty well solidified for the near future." It would be
nice to add another young, controllable arm to the rotation—and Dombrowski (with his
main goals achieved) is dealing from a position of strength. But, all in all, so far, we'd have to give 'Double D' a B+.
