D.J. Peterson |
No one has any
definitive word yet on who Boston would get back from Seattle for
Wade Miley. While the Mariners have a lot of decent prospects to deal,
few are MLB-ready.
Dave Dombrowski may, of course, be eyeing a player already on Seattle's MLB roster. However, one prospect he
might be interested in is 3B/1B
D. J. Peterson—ranked #3 in the Seattle system by
MLB.com's Prospect Watch. Peterson is 23 years old, 6'1", 210 pounds. Seattle's first-round pick in 2013 (#12 overall) out of the University of New Mexico, Peterson had an off-year in 2015 (.223, 7 HR, 44 RBIs in 97 games at AA and AAA). Lately, he's been projecting more as a first-baseman—which is an area of need on the Red Sox roster. Don't forget, we swindled Seattle out of
both Jason Varitek and
Derek Lowe for the immortal
Heathcliff Slocumb. Can we do it again? Stay tuned!
