Bye-Bye, Hanley? |
There is a growing belief that
the Red Sox may try to trade the riddle that is Hanley Ramirez before the December 6th Winter Meetings in Nashville. The rationale is that this would allow Boston to pursue a
real first baseman—like
Chris Davis,
Justin Morneau or even old friend
Mike Napoli—in free agency during the meetings. The kerfuffle over whether Ramirez was going to play Winter Ball has further exacerbated the shaky relationship between the team and player. Clearly,
Dave Dombrowski would have to eat a huge part of Hanley's remaining contract, but clearing the deck at first might be worth it. Stay tuned.
