OK, this one is pretty weird. Multiple sources are now reporting that former Philadelphia Phillies GM
Ruben Amaro, Jr. will be become the first base coach of the 2016 Boston Red Sox. Manager
John Farrell and Amaro played together on the Indians—but, is really this just a
buddy thing? Amaro has had an abysmal record as Philly GM—taking them from
MLB World Series-worthy to
Little League World Series-worthy. Why it was necessary to fire a loyal and competent coach like
Arnie Beyeler for
this guy is beyond us.
