The word on the street is that
Tigers manager Brad Ausmus is about to get fired (certainly after the season if not before). New Red Sox President of Baseball Operations
Dave Dombrowski "hand-picked" Ausmus to guide the Tabbys to glory—while their pizza-magnate octogenarian owner still had the strength to celebrate. But, after Dombrowski dealt away a
lot of the team's talent (
David Price,
Yoenis Cespedes,
Joakim Soria), the Tigers nose-dived to inglorious cellar-dwellers (even further out than the Red Sox). So, the consensus is that Ausmus was
not at fault for the demise of the 2015 Bengals. He is
still regarded as smart (a
Dartmouth College grad), innovative (comfortable with both 'stats' and 'guts') and a player's manager. Also, Dombrowski reportedly still loves him. If a decision is made to move on from a healthy
John Farrell, Ausmus
might just be the next skipper of
The Carmine Hose. Stay tuned!
