Rusney Castillo knocked in two runs in the 13th inning and
Rich Hill returned to the majors with a solid start to pace Boston to
a 2-0 win over Tampa. Hill allowed just one infield single in seven innings in his first start since 2009. The lefty struck out 10 and walked just one.
Mookie Betts extended his hitting streak to 18 games—needing just 39 more to break the all-time mark set by some Yankee guy. Castillo's winning single was his third hit of the day—and he was joined in the multiple-hit parade by Betts (3),
Dustin Pedroia (2),
Xander Bogaerts (2), and
Devin Marrero (2).
