According to Ken Rosenthal of
FOXSports.com, former Red Sox General Manager
Ben Cherington is unlikely to actively pursue any of the currently open GM positions in major league baseball. At least in the near future. The non-Boston GM spots that are currently available include: Seattle, Anaheim and Milwaukee. And, there are likely to be additional openings soon in D.C., Cincinnati and Philadelphia. Cherington is probably wise to take a 'wait and see' attitude—and then make a reasoned choice for his own future down the road. We wish him the best.
