The Wolf Inspects The Damage |
Everyone in
The Nation is justifiably excited about the recent run by the 2015
Carmine Hose—especially the hopeful signs from the youthful core of
Xander Bogaerts,
Mookie Betts,
Jackie Bradley, Jr.,
Blake Swihart and
Eduardo Rodriguez. However, even after winning 14 of their last 21, the Red Sox are on pace for just 77 wins.
That's eight games under .500. That's just six more wins than last year—and only eight more wins than was delivered by
Bobby Valentine in 2012. So, to paraphrase (and heavily censor)
Pulp Fiction's
Warner "The Wolf" Winston:
"Let's not get too excited just yet". A lousy year is a lousy year. Period. We can all feel legitimately excited about
next year—but as for
this year—it was another stinker in a lengthening line of stinkers.
Dave Dombrowski: take note.
