CC Sabathia has had the worst year of his career. His fastball barely cracks 90 MPH, his off-speed stuff is better suited to the HR Derby and he just
looks more out-of-shape than usual. And yet, the Red Sox offense made him look like Cy Young in his prime,
losing to The Pinstriped Posers, 2-1. The final dagger was thrust by former
Carmine Hoser Jacoby Ellsbury—who went solo yard off rookie
Eduardo Rodriguez in the 7th inning. E-Rod was still
very impressive, going a full seven innings and giving up just the two runs on six hits—while striking out five.
Rusney Castillo knocked in Boston's only earned run. With any kind of
major league offense behind him, this is a win for Rodriguez and the team. But, then again, this is the 2015 Red Sox.
