Yoan Moncada |
The #1 prospect in the Red Sox organization—20-year old Cuban 2B
Yoan Moncada—
is tearing it up at Low A Greenville. So far this season, he's hitting .287, with 5 HRs, 29 RBIs and an .812 OPS in just 59 games. He's doing so well, there is serious talk about quickly moving him up to the team's "Advanced A" affiliate at Salem. Said Red Sox GM
Ben Cherington,
"...over the last 4-6 weeks he's been a very good player, one of the better players at that level for his age. He's doing a lot of different things on the field, running the bases...he's showing us everything that we thought he could do, at least in glimpses, and we think he can be a real good player moving forward." In this horrific year, we need
something positive to look forward to!
