Boston's plan to insert
Henry Owens and Brian Johnson into the Red Sox rotation is
partially on hold. While Owens
will in fact start tonight in the Bronx, Johnson is going on the 7-day minor-league disabled list with an inflamed left elbow. Johnson made his MLB debut against the Astros two weeks ago today—then was sent back down to AAA. After one solid start for the PawSox, the tall lefty could only go four innings on Sunday. It's unclear what
other starting pitching options (if
any) the Red Sox may turn to in the final two months.
