"Say It Is So, Joe!" |
While the Red Sox season (aside from the ascent of the young "Killer Bs") continues its slow death spiral, we can at least revel in the demise of
The Pinstriped Posers. After their crushing 16-inning loss to
Terry Francona's Indians last night (along with Toronto's 4-2 win over Oakland), the Yankees have seen their AL East lead virtually disappear. The Blue Jays are now just
one-half game behind The Bronx Embalmers and are poised to take over the division any day now.
The Evil Ones are reeling—having lost four straight—and seem to have no answer to their recent pitching
and hitting woes. Even the "invincible"
Andrew Miller (late of
The Carmine Hose) was in fact "vinced" last night—blowing his first save in 25 tries. It's a beautiful thing to watch—this disintegration in the Bronx. Hey, it's all we've got.
