Jason Grilli: Coming to Fenway? |
According to
Hall of Fame baseball writer Peter Gammons,
the Red Sox may be one of a few teams interested in trading for Atlanta relief pitcher Jason Grilli (along with the Blue Jays, Rays, Dodgers and Tigers). This kind of makes sense,
except that Grilli is primarily in the closer's role for the Braves (he's saved 22 games already this year). Does this mean that 40-year old
Koji Uehara would be
swapped for the 38-year old Grilli? Or, perhaps Grilli (or Uehara) would be pushed back to the 8th inning, with
Junichi Tazawa shifted to the seventh? Hard to say. One thing is for sure, the Boston bullpen needs
addition rather than
subtraction. Stay tuned.
