Famed elbow guru
Dr. James Andrews examined
Clay Buchholz yesterday and
gave the ailing righty an injection of 'platelet-rich plasma'. Andrews also recommended that Buchholz be shut down for
at least another two weeks. Based on current projections (shutdown period, rehab), the earliest Buchholz could return to the Red Sox rotation would be sometime in September. But—given his track record—the next
realistic time we see Clay will be February in Fort Myers. Deal with it.
