After
Wade Miley (Friday),
Rick Porcello (Saturday) and
Eduardo Rodriguez (Sunday),
the Red Sox will turn to rookie left-hander Brian Johnson on Monday or Tuesday. At AAA Pawtucket this year, Johnson has gone 8-6, with a 2.73 ERA. In 85.2 innings, he's given up just 68 hits—and struck out 81. Temporarily at least, the Red Sox will have
three lefties in the starting rotation (Miley, E-Rod, Johnson). The 6'4" 24-year old was
originally drafted by the Dodgers in 2009, and later taken in the first round by Boston out of the University of Florida in 2012. Johnson seems ready and—if he performs well enough—it may be tough to send him back to the minors.
