Brock(All-)Star |
Brock Holt made it into the All-Star game last night as a pinch-runner in the seventh inning. Before you could say
"Lou Brock", he pulled off a delayed steal and beat the throw of gun-slinging
Yadier Molina. Not a bad start. He then scored on an RBI double by Oriole
Manny Machado. His lone at-bat was more of a challenge—facing the triple-digit offerings of
Aroldis Chapman (AKA
The Cuban Missle). The velocity of the five pitches he saw (99, 101, 100, 101, 101) were a little too much for him and he struck out. But, all in all, it was a good performance in
a 6-3 American League victory. Nice going, Brock!
