The win in last night's game
should have gone to
Eduardo Rodriguez. Instead, it went to Baltimore's
Chad Roe—which sounds more like an appetizer at
Legal Sea Foods than a pitcher. E-Rod pitched six scoreless innings—lowering his ERA to 0.44. The winning run in
the 1-0 loss came on a wild pitch by reliever
Matt Barnes. Once again, the
Raiders of the Lost Offense took center stage—as Boston mustered only 5 hits all night.
It is the fifth time the Red Sox have been shut out since May 8th. Unless all the elements are clicking on the same night—offense, pitching, defense—this team is just not talented enough to win on a consistent basis. Period.
