What else is new?
Rick Porcello (5.61 ERA) took a three-run lead into the fifth inning and preceded to cough it up again. In the fateful fifth, the pricey right-hander hit a batter, walked one, balked and gave up four hits (including a game-tying HR). That blow was enough to give
the Royals the confidence they needed to get the 7-4 win.
Mookie Betts led off the game with a HR and it was all downhill from there. Boston lost the services of both
Pablo Sandoval and
Blake Swihart to foot-related injuries—but both appear to be day-to-day. This 2015
Magical Misery Tour continues.
