Just as Major League Baseball is trying to deal with the
CardinalGate hacking scandal, another may be on the horizon.
MLB Advanced Media CEO
Bob Bowman announced that
baseball will be canceling 60-65 million All-Star ballots cast online. Said Bowman to Jeff Passan of
Yahoo! Sports,
"I’m not saying we bat 1.000. But it’s between 60 and 65 million votes that have been canceled. We don’t really trumpet it because if someone thinks they’re getting away with it, they’ll try to again." Controversy has swirled around this year's All-Star selections as Kansas City Royals players are slated to occupy
eight of the nine starting positions at the July 14th gala in Cincinnati. Hey, maybe
Dustin Pedroia still has a chance to make it after all.
