Joe Kelly won for the first time since April 11th and
Hanley Ramirez had three hits (including his 13th HR) in
a 4-2 win over the reeling A's. Could it be that Boston is getting on a mini-roll—winning for the fourth time in the last six games? They had better be, or else we're looking at another 70-'winish' last place team. If Kelly can maintain consistency—and be joined by
Eduardo Rodriguez,
Clay Buchholz,
Wade Miley and
Rick Porcello—all of a sudden we have a decent 5-man rotation. Of course, the offense needs to ramp up even
further—with the middle-of-the-order producing on a game-by-game basis. These recent wins are a good sign, but only a feeble first step.
