Mike Aviles was diagnosed with leukemia back in May.
Adriana Aviles is currently undergoing chemotherapy treatments, and several of Mike's teammates have shaved their heads in a show of support for her. Yesterday,
Indians owner Paul Dolan shaved his head as well. Unfortunately, this story has not gotten much coverage in the Boston sports press. Aviles was a class act during his tenure in Boston, and we wish his daughter a speedy and complete recovery.
