The depth to which the Red Sox have sunk in 2015 is almost immeasurable. Last night, leading 5-0 after the first inning and 8-1 later, they ended up
losing to Toronto in humiliating fashion, 13-10. The visitors from
The Great White North put up a 9-spot in the 7th-inning that rivals any other embarrassing frame in Red Sox history. They couldn't pitch, they couldn't catch, they couldn't stop the Canadian onslaught. Obviously, there were positive offensive signs in a 10-run effort (
Dustin Pedroia,
Xander Bogaerts,
David Ortiz,
Rusney Castillo), but the over-riding theme of this team is widespread dysfunction. More and more, it looks like
John Farrell has no control over the situation and must go.
