Thanks to a fact-filled article by
MassLive.com's Christopher Smith, we know a lot more about current Red Sox folk hero
Eduardo Rodriguez. Perhaps the most interesting finding is that
E-Rod did not start out as a left-handed thrower. Back in his native Venezuela, Rodriguez (at around age 7 or 8), was playing around with his brothers on a rainy day. He slipped while trying to climb a tall truck and broke his right elbow. Unable to lay off baseball while in a cast, he started throwing left-handed. You know the rest. Hopefully, someday, this story will be part of
'The Legend Of E-Rod'.
