The
Raiders Of The Lost Offense lasted only one night. Boston's new-fangled bats erupted again on Thursday, producing a 6-run third inning on the way to
a 6-2 win over Philadelphia.
Justin Masterson survived just one "hiccup" inning on the way to his first victory as a reborn
Carmine Hoser. The lanky righty went six innings, giving up just two earned runs and striking out seven. He also had two hits and an RBI.
Xander Bogaerts had the big blow—a bases-clearing triple (really a bloop down the right-field line). Bogaerts collected three hits in all.
Hanley Ramirez had two hits—along with
Shane Victorino.
Craig Breslow,
Tommy Layne and
Edward Mujica shut down
The Fightins the rest of the way.
