Sam Kennedy has turned
down an opportunity to interview for the top spot in a Canadian sports empire.
Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment Ltd. (MLSE) is a mega-conglomerate that owns (among other things) the NHL's Toronto Maple Leafs, the NBA's Toronto Raptors and the MLS's Toronto FC. Kennedy was granted permission to seek the CEO position by Red Sox ownership, but ultimately declined to even interview for the job. Kennedy is a bright star in the Sox organization—although he did dream up the awful "dynamic pricing" system that charges fans lots more money for "marquee" games.
