They
didn't earn it—five runs, that is. The Red Sox scored
five un-earned runs and enjoyed a good start by
Justin Masterson to
win a rain-shortened Patriot's Day tilt, 7-1. Masterson allowed just a single run on three hits over five innings. He had six strikeouts. The offensive stars today were
Dustin Pedroia (2 hits and an RBI) and
Allen Craig (a hit and an RBI after replacing the ill
Hanley Ramirez).
Mookie Betts singled in the first, stole second and took third on
Ryan Lavarnway's error. He later scored. Also, Andover High's
Ryan Hanigan scored a key run scampering around all the way from first base on a Pedey double. The Sox head to Tampa to take on the Rays tomorrow night.
