Margot (L); Owens (R) |
Hall of Fame baseball writer
Peter Gammons tweeted today that he still thinks
the best deal for the Phillies is to send
Cole Hamels to the Red Sox for prospects
Manuel Margot and
Henry Owens (and possibly others). Margot, a center-fielder at High-A Salem, is hitting .344 with a HR and seven RBIs in 16 games this year. He's also stolen seven bases. Owens has fallen a little behind others in the Sox pitching hierarchy this year. He's started three games for the AAA PawSox—going 1-0 with a 3.94 ERA. The 6' 6" 22-year old lefty has a 1.44 WHIP. Considering the disaster that is the Boston starting rotation, a deal may be near. Stay tuned.
