For the Red Sox to be 7-4 with inconsistent starting pitching and occasional offense is nothing short of a miracle. Both deficits were on display today as
Clay Buchholz gave up 11 hits (and somehow only two runs) in six innings of spotty work and the offense eked out 7 hits (
six from
two players) in
a 4-1 loss.
David Ortiz and
Brock Holt (of course) has three hits apiece, but Boston's offense (just 4 hits last night despite the win) is sputtering (four runs in the last 18 innings). Be thankful they're in first place—they don't
really deserve to be there.
