Maybe he's taking this "I'm The Ace" thing seriously.
Clay Buchholz pitched three dominant innings today—no-hitting the Twins in
a 4-2 Red Sox win. Of the nine outs he recorded, four were strikeouts. Andover High School grad
Ryan Hanigan caught Buchholz and had the following assessment,
"Down in the zone. All his pitches were working. We used all four quite a bit. Good mix. He threw a lot of close pitches, too, that were right around the plate. Even his misses were quality. He was solid." In the other split-squad game (a 7-6 Boston win),
Blake Swihart justified his ranking as the best catching prospect in baseball with a three-run HR. All in all, a good day.
