Marban Gets The Final Out |
He's pitching his heart out for the
Perth Heat in the
Australian Baseball League playoffs. But, he's
really looking forward to being in Fort Myers in a week or so.
Jorge Marban, a 25-year old right-handed reliever was signed to a minor league contract by the Red Sox in December. They liked the way the former Ranger prospect performed in the ABL regular season. Last night, Marban got the win in a 5-3 Perth victory over the
Adelaide Bite (how could you
not be a fan of the Bite?). Marban threw three innings, giving up just one hit and one walk—while striking out seven. Perth prevailed in the 10th inning and forced a decisive Game 3. Marban may be a factor again—both Down Under
and in Florida.
