Apparently, recent reports of
Larry Lucchino's waning influence on Yawkey Way were greatly exaggerated. Today, newspaper and soccer magnate
John Henry re-affirmed his faith in Lucchino, stating,
"There's no doubt that Larry is in charge and continues to be in charge". This conjures up visions of a pathetic
Al Haig stating back in 1981,
"I'm in charge here and not to worry...As for now, I’m in control here, in the White House." Will we be seeing Larry make similar statements soon? Maybe he can make the comments from the new AAA riverfront ballpark in Providence.
