The Red Sox today
signed manager John Farrell to a two-year contract extension. The new pact will keep Farrell in the Boston dugout through the 2017 season. The contract also includes a 2018
club option. Farrell will be entering his third season as skipper of
The Carmine Hose—the first two of which had polar opposite results. We're not sure this was a good move—a more prudent one would have been to re-visit an extension at the end of
this season.
