Hangin' With Papi (FenwayNation Photo) |
He was the last Red Sox player to arrive, but
Big Papi is now officially in Fort Myers. This morning,
David Ortiz came into camp ready to be Boston's DH in his 19th major league season. The only player on the roster to have won rings in 2004, 2007 and 2013, Ortiz was one of the few players to have a decent 2014 season. The now 39-year-old hit .263 with 35 HRs and 104 RBIs on a 71-win team. For the fourth time in the last six years, he collected at least 600 plate appearances. He seems ready to roll for 2015.
