In perhaps the most underwhelming signing of the off-season,
the Red Sox inked journeyman infielder Jeff Bianchi to a minor league contract—with an invite to major league Spring Training. The 28-year old Bianchi has played parts of three seasons with the Brewers after being drafted by the Royals in the second round of the 2005 draft and also making a brief stop in the Cubbies organization. He has hit just .216 during his stay in
The Show, but can adequately defend at multiple infield positions. One word: Yawn.
