Cub Spring Training Park Named For Toilet Co.
As if the self-esteem of Cubs fans weren't low enough, the team announced that their Spring Training facility will be named after a plumbing company, which makes "flush valves and other restroom products". The Mesa, Arizona facility will be known as "Sloan Park", after the Sloan Valve Company. Apparently, their signature product was the "Royal Flushometer". Folks, you just can't make this stuff up. So, as the Cubbies try to break a 107-year championship drought, there will be plenty of H2O to quench that drought. Sort of. Kinda makes jetBlue seem like a great sponsor by comparison, doesn't it?
