For Sale: Headed To Fenway? |
According to a report in
BaseballHotCorner.com, a "credible major league source" indicates that
the Red Sox are trying to consummate a trade for 25-year old White Sox left-handed starter Chris Sale. Boston would send a package of top prospects to Chicago—including catcher
Blake Swihart, and
two of the following pitching prospects:
Henry Owens,
Matt Barnes,
Anthony Ranaudo,
Brian Johnson,
Allen Webster,
Rubby De La Rosa, or
Eduardo Rodriguez. Reportedly, the White Sox are also interested in 3B
Garin Cecchini and SS
Devin Marrero. Sale is one of the premier young lefties in the game—with a 44-29 record and a 2.76 ERA over his first three full seasons. He could become a free agent in 2018 with a
team option.
