Now, Boston is offering Justin Masterson a ticket home—in the form of a two-year contract offer to start for The Carmine Hose. Clearly, the thought is that Masterson can be returned to earlier form under the tutelage of his former mentor—manager John Farrell. Realistically, Masterson would be a third or fourth starter—assuming Ben Cherington nets two top-of-the-rotation starters in the next couple of days.
