Pedro Martinez has been named the 2014 winner of the Judge Emil Fuchs Award by the Boston Chapter of the Baseball Writers Association of America (BBWAA). The award is given for "long and meritorious service" to baseball and is named after the former owner of the Boston Braves. Presentation of the award will be on January 22nd at the chapter's annual dinner held at B.U.'s Agganis Arena. In seven seasons with the Red Sox, Martinez went 117-37 with a 2.52 ERA. His 1999 and 2000 seasons are among the most dominant in baseball history. He is a
lock to be elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, NY this Summer.
